Satsang Bhagavad Gita Series

With GajananamSunday, June 11, 2017
6:00 –8:00 pm

We are priveleged to have Gajananam as a special guest leading Satsang once a month (as his schedule allows). A longtime friend of the Sivananda organization, he is knowledgeable, engaging, and full of insight.

This month, he summarizes Chapter 12 in the study of this timeless, inspirational scripture: The Yoga of Devotion. This chapter teaches humanity to follow the immortal dharma, which leads one nearer to God. Dharma keeps the stream of life in harmony, and one derives immense happiness in both the material and spiritual fields.

We enjoy a vegetarian soup together afterwards.

Gajananam

Gajananam is a direct disciple of Swami Vishnu-devananda and the founder/director of the Vishnu-devananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Fremont, CA. He began his training in the late ’80s at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Tel Aviv, and became a Sivananda yoga instructor in 1989. In the ’90s, he served as a staff member and director of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in New York and has taught at many Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Courses and retreats.
Due to his love for chanting Kirtan, mantras and slokas, which have a wonderful uplifting vibration, with the desire to pronounce these more accurately as well as deepen his understanding of the mantras and ancient scriptures, Gajananam studied Sanskrit under the tutelage of the Sanskrit Scholar Dr. Sarasvati Mohan from 2004 through 2012.
He is an excellent teacher of Bhagavad Gita and Sanskrit.
