Nine-night celebration of the Divine Mother. Receive her abundant blessings. Each night, a puja will be celebrated. It is a very beautiful devotional practice where we bathe her, dress and adorn her, offer flower petals at her feet, then offer incense, light and sweets. Come once, come to one for each of the Devis or attend all nine nights for the greatest benefit.
We will read the Devi Mahatmyam over the nine nights, which describes the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura.
Swami Sivananda says, "Devi is the Mother of all... Devi is the Mother of Nature. She is Nature itself... She vitalizes the universe through Her energy. She is the energy in the sun, the fragrance in the flowers, the beauty in the landscape,...intelligence in the mind... Lust, anger, greed, egoism, pride are all Her forms. Her manifestations are countless."
